How the live positions work

Passengers on board share their phone location through the Find My Train Android app. We match each position to the train’s route, work out how far it is between stations, and compare the time with the timetable to show whether it is early, on time or late.

A train only shows up while someone on board is sharing. When the signal is old, the map keeps the last known position and says how long ago it was seen. Positions are placed along the real railway lines on the map, but they are estimates, not signalling data.

Questions people ask

How can I track a train in Bangladesh live?

Search for the train name or number, or tap a train on the live map. Positions come from passengers on the train who share their location, so a train shows up once someone on board is using the tracker.

Is this the official Bangladesh Railway website?

No. Find My Train Bangladesh is an independent project. Use the official e-ticket site (https://eticket.railway.gov.bd) to buy tickets and railway.gov.bd for official notices.

Why does a train show no live position?

A train appears on the map only while a passenger on board shares its location. Trains with no recent update still show their scheduled stops and times.

How do I find trains between two stations?

Use the Plan a trip tab on the map or open the routes page. Pick a start and an end station to see every train that runs between them, with departure and arrival times.

Are the timetables accurate?

Times follow the schedule in our data and can change. Check the official Bangladesh Railway site before you travel, especially around holidays.
